Learner Autonomy

Autonomous learners:

  1. continuously use and gradually develop their target language (TL) communicative skills;

  2. experiment with language, gradually developing an explicit analytical knowledge of the TL system and an awareness of the cultural conventions and social constraints that shape its use;

  3. are intentional learners, gradually developing an explicit awareness of affective and metacognitive aspects of language learning (Little, 2017).
